We offer two services for the Underwater Locator Beacons (ULB) and Low Frequency Underwater locator devices (LF-ULD) which are performed at the NOVEGA facility.

Inspection

This service includes an appraisal, thorough cleaning, functional testing, as well as activation, waterproofness and sound level check in our underwater testing facility.

Battery Service

Second Battery Replacement

Please note that every beacon must be returned to us for a sound level check in our underwater testing facility before the second battery replacement. Typically, after 8 to 12 years, depending on the product type.

Battery Service

The NOVEGA ULBs or LF-ULD have a shelf life of 5 to 6 years and through a battery replacement the shelf life can be renewed for 5 to 6 years depending on the product. A warranty extension of 2 years will be granted, if the battery replacement is performed at the NOVEGA facility.

The service includes an appraisal, thorough cleaning, functional testing, battery and O-ring replacement, as well as activation, waterproofness and sound level check in our water testing tank. Please note that battery replacement is required no later than the date shown on the Battery Replacement Information Sticker (BRIS). The battery replacement information is included on the Form1, as well.

ULYSER Functional Test

ULYSER
Functional Test

The ULYSER must be returned annually for a functional test. In addition to general examinations during the service, we replace the battery and verify the main functions of the device. The correct functionality is confirmed with a works test certificate.
